Officer Masters
I was 18 when I went into the academy. After the night with my parents, I seemed to have a vendetta for, not exactly catching the guys who killed my parents-- they were already in jail for life without parole, but in catching anyone else who would take away a child's world.
I studied in school and when I was released from the system I went right into the academy. I graduated third in my class with only four other female police officers. A real credit to my training, I was told. When I got to my department they tried to originally put me in vice for a few months, but the captain wouldn't have it. I was given a partner to train with after only a couple months at a desk and I was out on the streets during the day to learn the ropes. I was a quick study and made my partner, a senior police officer of 30 years who had been turned down as detective twice. Joe was a good man.
One day, after about two years of being with the same partner, I was approached by some suits who took me into the captains office. A special assignment they said, that I was perfect for. Of course I was.. I was the only female officer of decently young age that matched the description they needed. Brunette, modestly beautiful, young, no family or attatchments.
Undercover, they said. Longterm. What did I have to lose? And did I want to insult them by telling them no? What reason did I have? It was hard enough for a woman to get in good in a career that was male oriented. After a few quick weeks of training, my life was about to change. My job? Bringing down one of the highest ranking families in the New York based Italian Mafia. I would dabble with the Asians, the Russians and the Irish..Was I ready? Probably not.. but the only file that would contain any of my information now was going to be locked in the city commisoner's office, only to be looked at in his personal preferance. I no longer existed to the outside world.. and no one would miss me.
